Last week was our World Fair for our homeschooling co-op. Our family researched and reported on Germany. The boys and I made potato pancakes and sourkraut to share with the other homeschool families. Also represented at the World Fair were China, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, France, and Haiti. We had a great time sharing information with each other about what we had learned, we got to try some very interesting foods and we learned alot about other cultures.

I feel like such a slacker! I have let the blog sit stagnant for WAY to long! It isn't that I have nothing exciting to say, it's that we have been so busy that I haven't had time to do any updating. We've been to the zoo, lots of boyscout outings, family get togethers, preparing for our school year, and 2 different summer camps! Hopefully now that we are back on a schedule (kind of) I can do better about keeping up with the blog.

Krohns Conservatory

We took a little field trip with some friends to Krohns Conservatory this past month. It is so beautiful there (and free). The boys love to go to the various shows that they have. We can't wait for the butterfly show.

Pine Wood Derby

We didn't have any big winners this year, but Chad and the boys had lots of fun working on their cars together. The boys were excellent sports about not winning.

Trip to Washington D.C.

For Thanksgiving this year we decided to take a little trip to DC. The boys LOVED it. We visited the Memorials, Capitol, White House, two of the Smithsonians and lots lots more. The boys loved riding the subway which they had never done before. We walked soooo much everyones legs were killing them by the time we were back in the hotel at night. There was so much to see and do. We are planning to go back soon. There were so many things on our list that we just didn't have time to do them all.

Warm Fall Days

Aquarium Trip

The Newport Aquarium had a "Homeschool Days". The boys have been begging me for months to go there. They had an awesome time. They couldn't get enough of the shark petting. I think Matthew would have stayed and petted sharks till they threw him out. I thought the Jelly fish were very cool. The penquins were also very entertaining.

The boys had a great time at the cub scout campout this year. Matthew is not actually a cubscout, although he thinks that he is. Next year Caleb will graduate from the cubscouts into the boy scouts. He is really excited about it.

School Projects

One advantage of homeschooling is all of the hands on learning fun you can have. Last week we studied about pottery and how it was made. The boys got to make their own clay pots (and I did too). A few days later we had a history lesson on the downfall of the Roman Empire and the Celtic warriors so the boys made their own Celtic war axes and capes and brooches. I guarentee you they can tell you anything you want to know about a Celtic warrior (and with excitement too).

First Days of School

The boys started school at the end of August. The summer went so fast! Matthew has started preschool which was very exciting. He really loves going and hasn't cried about it at all. He has the same teacher that Ryan had she is really good with the kids and FULL of energy. He goes 2 days a week right now. It is amazing how much school Caleb and Ryan can get done without Matthew here to distract.

I finally have my camera back!! I am so happy! Those disposable cameras are horrible. I was so upset because only a few of our karate tournament pictures turned out. :( The boys did super at the tournament (especially considering it was their first one). Caleb got 3rd place in sparring, Ryan got 2nd place in forms, Matthew got a 1st place trophy (just because) and Chad got a 1st place trophy for forms and a 3rd place trophy for sparring. I was very proud of them all.

We have been really busy the past few months getting ready for school to start. I feel like I have neglected everything else around me. It's so hard to figure out which curriculum to go with because there are sooooo many to choose from! The boys are really excited because we will be starting Latin this year (we'll see how long that lasts). They are also excited because we have finished a room in our basement to use as a classroom. So I finally have my dining room back!

Hello Again

Well I am not neglecting my blog. My camera is still broken. It's such a bummer!! I feel like I am missing out on capturing important events. Things like...the boys trying to surf down the slip and slide, ballgames with friends, fireworks, trips to Kings Island, days at the park, nerf gun fights. Hopefully it will be repaired soon and I will once again capture the important "stuff" to share with you.

I can't believe it's been a month since I last blogged!! We have kept busy. That is for sure. We've been to parks and museums, camp, the pool etc. Caleb, Chad, and I spent the entire last week at Camp Kern which was AWESOME! Chad was Calebs counselor and I was in a cabin with 12 and 13 year old girls. Living with girls for a week was a big change for me as I am used to being surrounded by my boys. The girls were great though. They were all very sweet and kind and funny. The boys are still in Tae kwon Do and had a test for a new belt yesterday. They are so excited about it and really love it. I love it too as it is really big on respect which is good for boys of any age. My camera is broken (again) sooooo aggrevating. I will post some pictures of what we have been up to this past month but unfortunately I have no camp pictures boo hoo.

Mothers Day Weekend

We had a great Mothers Day weekend at Mammoth Cave with my brother and his family. We stayed in an old log cabin on the grounds of a bed and breakfast. The kids spent lots of time bug hunting which is Matthews favorite past time (no rock goes unturned). We explored the grounds, did some hiking, took a cave tour, panned for gems and had a blast!

Things Are Hoppin' Around Here

One of our neighbors sons was out cutting the grass when he realized that he had accidentally run over a burrow of baby bunnies. Unfortunately one of them was not fast enough to get away from the blade. We talked with some wildlife people and after answering several of their questions about the bunnies...their size, if their ears are up or back, do they have white on their heads, we determined that the bunnies where probably old enough to survive on their own. We gathered up the ones we could find and put them in a safe spot close to the burrow. They were so cute and Caleb begged to keep one, but I was strong and refused to give in.

The boys have been enjoying playing in the backyard with their neighbor friends since the weather has warmed up. They received pocket knives from their papaw and have been working on whittling. They also love this time of year because everyone is out roasting marshmallows in their fire pits. They can just make rounds around the culdesac eating marshmallows.

The boys and I are studying Botony right now for our science so we asked the Short's if they would mind letting us help them with their garden this year. They said yes! So we headed over to their house for some planting. Afterwards some trampoline fun, go cart riding, and popsicles YUM.

Co-op Fun

We are still meeting with our homeschool co-op every Thursday. We alternate having a fieldtrip one week and sign language and a craft the next. The kids really enjoy being together and are learning a lot from Ms. Audrey.

Easter Party

We celebrated Easter with our homeschooling co-op last Thursday at our friends the Grogan's house. Their backyard is better than a park it is fenced in, has tons of playground equipment, trees, a basketball court, and a sidewalk going all the way around. The kids had a blast running wild and playing with each other. We had games and decorated cookies and of course an Easter egg hunt.

Trip to the Ville

Chad was on vacation this past week so we decide to make it the boys spring break. They spent several nights at their mammaw and papaws house in Louisville. They had a great time playing outside. The weather was beautiful and they took advantage of it by riding their skateboards and scooters up and down the street. Chad and I joined them later in the week. Chad and Papaw took the boys fishing which they LOVED and they caught tons of fish (even Matthew).

Pinewood Derby Finals

Since Ryan won the Pinewood Derby in his age group from his pack he got to go to the Pinewood Derby district final at Northern Kentucky University. Caleb was runner up for his age group and the first place winner was not able to go, so he also got to go and race his car! It was all very exciting. The boys didn't place in the district competition, but it was a great experience and it was fun to go watch the races and see everyones cars.

Learning to Make Syrup

We went with our homeschool group to one of the local parks to see how Maple Syrup is made. It was VERY cold but also lots of fun and very interesting. The kids got to see how the trees are tapped and then they got to practice drilling a hole into a log just like they would if they were actually tapping a maple tree. At the end we were shown how the sap is actually turned into syrup and we got to sample some of the syrup that was made at the park.

Pine Wood Derby

The boys had their cubscout pinewood derby in February. They had a wonderful time designing and decorating their cars. Matthew also made a car. He seriously thinks that he is already a cubscout although it will be 2 more years before he can officially become one. Chad also made a car and raced in the dads derby. Caleb did much better this year than last. Chad came in 2nd in the dads derby and brought home a little trophy. Ryan was the real shocker. He came in 1st place for his age group and gets to go to the finals!!! Ryan brought home a HUGE trophy.

Chad and the boys participated in the Cub Scout Dad & Ladd cake bake this past year. All of the boys had to bake and decorate a cake to be auctioned off. Caleb made a Christmas tree and Ryan made a Snowman. Ryan's brought more money because it had Little Debbie Ho Ho's on it. Matthew got to make his own little cake and he was so excited because he got to put M & M's on it. He has the biggest sweet tooth ever!

Caleb, Ryan, Matthew and I headed to the Cinci Zoo for our first Festival of Lights display. The lights were really cute and some were set to music. The boys liked having their pictures made with the charachters. The puppet show was in black light and it was awesome. We had a great time.

Raising Boys

The following came from an anonymous mother in Austin, Texas...Things I've learned from my boys (honest and not kidding)

a) For those with no children - this is totally hysterical!
b) For those who already have children past this age, this is hilarious.
c) For those who have children this age, this is not funny
d) For those who have children nearing this age, this is a warning.
e) For those who have not yet had children, there is birthcontrol.

1.) A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 2000 sq.ft. house 4 inches deep.
2.) If you spray hair spray on dust bunnies and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.
3.) A 3-year old Boy's voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.
4.) If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is notstrong enough to rotate a 42 pound Boy wearing Batman underwear anda Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint on all four walls of a 20 x 20 ft. room.
5.) You should not throw baseballs up when the ceiling fan is on. when using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a baseball a long way.
6.) The glass in windows (even double-pane) doesn't stop a baseball hit by a ceiling fan.
7.) When you hear the toilet flush and the words "uh oh", it's already too late.
8.) Brake fluid mixed with Clorox makes smoke, and lots of it.
9.) A six-year old Boy can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year old Man says they can only do it in the movies.
10.) Certain Lego's will pass through the digestive tract of a 4-year old Boy.
11.) Play dough and microwave should not be used in the same sentence.
12.) Super glue is forever.
13.) No matter how much Jell-O you put in a swimming pool you still can't walk on water.
14.) Pool filters do not like Jell-O.
15.) VCR's do not eject "PB & J" sandwiches even though TV commercials show they do.
16.) Garbage bags do not make good parachutes.
17.) Marbles in gas tanks make lots of noise when driving.
18.) You probably DO NOT want to know what that odor is.
19.) Always look in the oven before you turn it on; plastic toysdo not like ovens.
20.) The fire department in Austin, TX has a 5-minute response time.
21.) The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.
22.) It will, however, make cats dizzy.
23.) Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.
24.) 80% of Men who read this will try mixing the Clorox and brake fluid.
25.) Women will pass this on to almost all of their friends, with or without kids.

Field Trip

Today we took half of our school day to take a little trip to the Cincy Museum. That place it THE coolest. We always find something new in there! Just when we think we have seen it all we discover something we didn't even realize was there. The boys absolutely LOVE it there and Matthew cried when we had to leave.

Warm Fall Days

We took advantage of the warm fall days that we had this past week by spending all of the time that we could outside. We spent a day at the creek looking for fossils, a few hours at a nearby nature park, and we also spent a day at the zoo with some friends. This week it's back to the sweaters and long pants.

Swingset Rappell

The boys were in the backyard playing and decided that they would like to learn to rappell. Chad gathered all of his equipment and set up a small reppell from the swing set. It was hilarious. Ryan did not like it at all, but Caleb and Matthew had a ball.

Halloween in " The Ville"

We spent Halloween weekend with my parents who live in Louisville. The boys had a great time trick or treating with their little cousin Mallory. Matthew went as a ninja, Caleb was Darth Vador, and Ryan was Anakin Skywalker. Mallory was the cutest little Dumbo that I have ever seen. We also got to see my newest little nephew Ethan. The boys spent Saturday riding bikes and scooters and taking walks with mammaw and pappaw.

Granny's Garden

This Thursday we took a little trip with some friends to Granny's Garden. It's a 40 acre farm about 5 minutes from our house. They have goats and chickens, barns, and ponds. The ladies that took us around were soooo great! They had never done a fieldtrip before but they were so wonderful! They had cookies and coolaid for us and took us on a hayride around the farm and told us all of the history of the farm. They let the kids gather eggs, feed the chickens, and chase the 3 goats all around their pins.

Signing Time

We have begun to get together with some of our friends every other Thursday to have a signing class. There is a lady from church who is deaf and she has agreed to teach us American Sign Language. The kids (and adults) are excited about it and had a great time at their first class. We are also taking advantage of the time together to have lunch and let the kids do a craft and play together.

Caleb and Ryan both have October birthdays. In the past they have chosen to have a Halloween party instead of a birthday party but this year they decided that they would rather have a birthday party. They chose to do their party at Lazer Kraze. They had friends from Cub Scouts and friends from school there to help them celebrate. Even Chad, Matthew, and I got to play. The boys had lots of fun trying to tag me and Chad and we had lots of fun acting like kids :)

The Terrible Three's

Potty Training

I don't know who coined the phrase terrible two's but apparently they did it before they met a three year old. Matthew is three and he is quite the busy fellow. He's going through a stage right now were he screams bloody murder whenever I get out of his sight (even at home). It's nice to be loved and needed but it definetly gets old having a 3 year old attatched to your leg 24-7.

He definetly has his sour moods but he also has a hilarious sense of humor (when he's not crying and screaming of course).

I haven't given up blogging, we have just been extremely busy this summer. We've been to Kings Island, the zoo, the museum, the pool, the creek. I plan to post some pictures as soon as time permits : ) I can't believe it's time for the kids to go back to school already!! I am sad in some ways and happy in others. I am sad because I'll miss Caleb and Ryan and we have lots of fun going different places and learning new things. I am also happy because I will get some much needed one on one time with Matthew. We need to work on colors, shapes, potty training and I rarely have time to just sit and read to him or play with him. Okay enough rambling (for now). I will be posting pictures soon so please check in on us!

We had the boys pictures taken today. Matthew just turned 3 and I don't think I've had his picture taken (professionally) since he was about 10 months old. The pictures turned out wonderful!! I was so pleased. There were a ton of pictures and there was no way I could post them all so the rest of them will be in an album to the right (under Scott Family Photo Albums) as soon as I get around to it.

The Reds Game

Today was family day for the Reds game. The kids all got free Griffey jerseys. Matthew fell asleep of course but Caleb and Ryan had a blast.

Another Hot Day

Today was another warm one, so we pulled the pool under the slide and filled it up to help keep the boys cool. Unfortunately Caleb wasn't able to get in because he has stitches in his leg from a bike accident last week, so he ended up going to his friends house for some video games. Matthew is definitely braver this year and didn't even hesitate to come down the slide.

Trip To The Museum

Chad took off today for the Holiday weekend. We thought we would go to Kings Island but it was overcast and raining off and on all day so we decided to head out to the museum. The kids love it there and Chad had never been so he was looking forward to seeing it. They love playing in the "water works" area and the "ball pit" and Matthew liked playing in the sand.

It is so hard to believe that Matthew is turning 3. We celebrated his birthday today with some family members. Both sets of grandparent were there, Counsin Debbie, Jon, Aunt Nee and of course Chad and I, Ryan and Caleb. Matthew was so excited all day and continuously (and I do mean continuously) asked "Mom, Is it time for my party?" He is really into race cars this year so he picked out a cake with a race car on it.

Another Week Of Camp

This week the boys had cubscout camp. Ryan won't be joining till the fall, but they told him he could come as long as Chad stayed with him. Caleb went off on his own with an older group of boys (which is why I only have pictures of Ryan). He had a BLAST fishing, shooting the BB gun, bow and arrows, and using a hammer to make me a trivet and a bracelet. He can't wait for more cubscout activities!!

A Week Of Summer Camp

Chad and Caleb spent last week at Summer Camp in Ohio. Caleb as a camper and Chad as a counselor. They made lots of new friends and caught up with some old ones too. They both had a great time canoeing, hiking, archery, and even a day at Kings Island. Caleb won an award for the highest score in archery for his age group and Chad came home with no broken bones. They are both totally exhausted, but I guess they better perk up because this week is Cub Scout Camp.

Chad took the boys to the pool tonight. While Chad was getting Ryan and Caleb ready to swim, Matthew decided that he would just jump right in. Luckily he had his life jacket on so he popped back up after he went under.

We have been having VERY warm days. It was in the 90's last week so the boys decided to have some water fun. Sprinklers, water guns, and spraying each other with the hose kept them busy for the entire day.

Since the boys were camping out on Friday Matthew and I went to stay with my good friend Tricia (who's husband and two sons were also camping). We had a great time just catching up on things. We went to the Hillside Inn for some Mexican food, took a walk down by the river, and then took a buggy ride around downtown. Matthew loved throwing rocks into the water and watching the boats. Matthew also made good friends with Sloan the dog while we were there.

Saturday, after the guys returned from their 4 wheeler ride out to the creek, we drove out to one of the volunteer firehouses for a fish fry.

Boys Camp Out

Some of our friends from Madison, Indiana have a farm (Britt Farm) and this weekend they were nice (and brave) enough to invite all of the 1st grade and up boys to their place for a campout and small devotional. Caleb and Ryan were so happy to be able to spend time with all of their old friends. They had a good time just running around and playing in the woods and sitting around the fire.

The school year is coming to an end. Ryan had his kindergarten program today. They sang several songs and answered lots of questions about things that they have learned this school year. Ryan did very well in kindergarten and received several prizes for his reading ability. He even got to pick out a school library book to be dedicated to him. He chose a book about whales and they put a certificate with his name on it inside the front cover. Caleb did well in 3rd grade with lots of 100%'s and he is reading at a 6th grade level according to his testing.

First K.I. trip for the Season

We had to go upgrade our passes so we figured while we were there we might as well get in a few rides. As soon as we got out of the car Matthew said "this is gonna be fun!". We didn't take alot of pics this trip. It was a Sunday afternoon so we only had a couple of hours.

Cincy Museum

We took advantage of the day off from school and headed across the bridge for our first trip to the Cincinnati Museum. The boys had a blast! They loved all of the activities in the childrens museum and I was impressed with how many activities that they offered...the water works play area which Matthew loved, the ball area, the grocery store and the pet clinic which had actually x-rays of animals for the kids to examine, the huge bulldozer and the tree house play area for exploring. We spent most of the day there and the kids still weren't ready to go home. I have put the rest of the pictures of our trip to the Museum in an album to the right under "Scott Family Photo Albums"

BobCat to Webelos

Caleb had his last cub scout outing (till fall) this past weekend. It was a camp out at the Florence Motor Speedway. Caleb, Ryan and Matthew all went and they all had an awesome time. They didn't stay the night, but they did stay for the race. Caleb was very excited because he graduated from a Bobcat to a Webelos. The race car drivers brought their cars out for all of the cub scouts to see and they even got to set in the cars. The cub scouts also got to go out onto the track to lead the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance. They also got to say "start your engines" before the race began. Matthew was a little scared at first because the cars were so loud but he wore the ear plugs and was so excited!! He kept pointing and yelling "there's another one".

Free Day

The boys were off from school today and they have been bugging Chad to take them fishing for the past 2 weeks. So FINALLY today they got their wish. It was a little windy out but the boys didn't seem to mind. Ryan caught one fish, Caleb caught two and Matthew caught three.

Afterwards we had a picnic and fed the ducks. At first the ducks were running away from the boys but as soon as they realized that the boys had bread they decided that they would stick around.

It's that time again. Warm days and cool evenings and that means a little fire in the firepit and some yummi s'mores! The boys always love this time of year because they get to help Chad with the fire and then make themselves a gooey treat. What could be better?

I can't believe that this past weekend Chad and I celebrated our 1oth wedding anniversary. I told him that it seemed much much longer than that. Of course I was joking, it doesn't seem like it has been anytime at all really. Anyways, we spent the weekend at the Red River Inn down at Natural bridge.

We took a 6 mile hike and found this wonderful lookout that is at the end of an unmarked trail. You could see almost the entire Red River Gorge from this point. We had a picnic here and there was not another person anywhere in sight. It was so nice and peaceful and I had forgotten what it 's like to have complete silence around me and to be able to actually carry on a conversation with my husband without having to stop and answer the phone or get onto one of the kids for something.

We also took a few hours to do some rappelling. You know... it's pretty good when you can trust your spouse to hang you off of a cliff while no one else is around. There are more pictures of our trip under "more scott photos" to the right. It was so beautiful down there and I hope you have time to check out the rest of the pics.

The moment you have all been waiting for (lol) I have finally gotten around to putting most of our spring break photos on shutterfly. Well, I have been promising pictures from Florida Spring Break '08 for a month now. So here they finally are...Some of them anyways. One of the days we were there we took a little drive down to Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park to look around. It's a very nice park with lots of landscaping, water and different types of birds and other animals. The boys had a great time. Hopefully I will get the other pictures posted soon. I have beach pictures and Disney World pictures and pictures from the Museum of Science and Industry so check back soon.

Welcome Spring

Hard to believe that Spring is less than 2 weeks away. Especially when you are under a level 3 snow emergency with blizzard conditions. It started Friday morning and continued the entire day with alittle sleet mixed in for fun. It just kept coming thru the entire night and it didn't stop till about 5 o'clock on Saturday evening. Despite being sick Ryan begged to go out. I told him to go ahead and maybe the cold weather would kill all of his germs. I think he didn't realize how deep it was until we raised the garage door and he saw that it was almost up to his waist. I heard that we ended up with 15.5 inches total, of coarse some areas were deeper due to the blizzard like winds that we had earlier.

Sick Day

Well Matthew started it, Caleb followed, and now it's Ryans turn. Matthew started on Wednesday with a hoarse voice and runny nose, pulling at his ear. Caleb woke up Thursday morning with a sore throat and fever of 101. Ryan came home Thursday with a headache and fever. So of coarse they had to have ice cream to make them feel better followed by lots of laying around watching T.V and playing video games.

I took these pictures today. Matthew and his buddy looking out the office window. Matthew and Bella are best buddies while Caleb and Ryan are gone to school. Matthew will get out his doctor kit and examine inside Bella's ears and look at her teeth and inside her mouth. Very funny to watch them together. Bella is a good sport though and just lays there and takes it. Sometimes Matthew even uses her as a pillow.

Snow day (Yet again)

The kids were off school for Presidents Day on Monday. Then they got another day off today when we woke to a couple of inches of white fluff covering the ground. The boys couldn't wait to get out into it. Chad took Caleb and Ryan sledding, but it was toooo cold for me, Matthew, and Bella, so we stayed home were it was nice and warm.

Science Fair Outcome

Caleb did a very good job on his Science Fair project and his teacher thought so too! She got to pick 4 students in her class to go on to the school science fair and Calebs was one of the ones that she chose. YEH CALEB!! Unfortunately, that is as far as he got to go, but he said the judge told him that she was very impressed with his project.

Today was the last Saturday home game of the season for Chad and I to go to together(boo hoo). We really enjoyed spending these Saturdays together cheering on the Cats. The game was not pretty, but they did pull out a win. Once again there was some bad officiating and Alabama had some pretty dirty fouls. One that took out Ramon Harris with a hip pointer injury, but no technical was called "BOO!" Another player to add to the injured list. (like there is not enough already). Bradley did play even though a week earlier he suffered a concussion as well as having the flu. I know I know enough basketball chatter.

There's a Rainbow in the Cloud

When I came home today Matthew was SOOOO excited. He kept running to the window and yelling. I finally figured out that he was trying to tell me he saw a rainbow out the window. For the rest of the night, even when it got dark, he kept looking out the window trying to see the rainbow. It was really brilliant and it looks like it ended in the backyard of the house across the street. Wonder if they found the pot of gold?

The Science Fair!

There is always something going on around here. This week it just happens to be the science fair. Caleb is really excited about it. He loves science! His project is "will playing video games have an affect on your blood pressure?" They really enjoyed doing this one because it meant that they got to play video games, which they usually are only allowed to play on weekends. The teachers will come into Caleb's class and pick the 3 that they think are best on Tuesday. I'll let you know how it goes.

Back to Work

I started back to work this week and I am very excited about it. It has been about 3 years since I have done any nursing. I'll be working PRN (when they have a shift open they will ask me if I want it and I can say yes or no). I'll only be taking shifts when Chad is home and able to keep the boys, so probaby night shift or an occasional Saturday.

The PineWood Derby

Today was the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby. Chad and Caleb have been working hard on carving out their car and painting it and getting it in top racing condition. We went last night for a trial run and to do some final tweaking to the car. They raced the cars in groups of 4 and although Caleb didn't win he still had a really good time working on the car and spending the day with his friends. This was his first year for the pinewood derby so he got some good ideas from watching the other cars and can't wait till next years race.

GO CATS!!! The most awesome game of the season!!! Yes, we beat Vandy who WAS 12-0. The first loss for Vandy this season and it was to the Cats. It was a heart pounding game with 2 over times. Everytime I looked at Chad he was fanning himself with his hat. The Cats played wonderful defense. They're offense and shooting need alittle work. They pulled out a win though. C-A-T-S ...CATS, CATS, CATS.

Today was the big game...the 2 biggest rivals Uof K vs Uof L. The game was lots of fun and Chad and I got to spend some time together which was nice. We ate at one of our favorite places, DeSha's. Unfortunatly the ending was not so great as U of K was defeated by U of L and there were some little teenagers (U of L fans) who sat behind us and screeched all during the game. There were several BAD calls by the refs, but the Cards did outplay us this year. We'll get'em next year though. The GO CATS in the picture was spelled out with T-shirts draped over the seats..pretty cool.

Well Christmas has come and gone. We had a really nice holiday. On Christmas Eve we went to Chads parents and the boys had a wonderful time opening presents and visiting with mammaw and pappaw. On Christmas day it was really nice, it was just the 5 of us. The boys spent the morning opening gifts from santa and playing with their new toys. The nintendo ds was a huge hit and the boys have been playing Pokemon everyday since they got it. Ryan received about 5 webkinz and some clothes for them, which is really all that he asked for. Matthew really liked his remote control cement truck and they took turns singing on the karaoke machine that we received from Santa (hilarious). That evening we went and saw a movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks" it was really cute, but the boys spent the rest of the evening talking like chipmunks (which got a little annoying after an hour or so).

Today we had some of Chad's family over for Christmas dinner. It was good to see everyone and the boys always love when aunt Nee comes bearing gifts!! Matthew got some puzzles and Caleb got a lava lamp and battleship game and Ryan got a book and a neat game called peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Matthew is really getting the hang of opening the presents.

Work Christmas Party

Tonight was Chad's Christmas party for his work place. It was a very nice party at the "Elegance Hall". It was so nice that Santa even showed up!! and he brought a present for all of the boys and girls. Of course the most exciting part of the evening was when we were all seated and the Chief was handing out awards and Ryan started puking (in the front row of course). Don't worry, I didn't take any pictures of that!

Caleb had his "Winter Celebration" at school today. There were lots of snacks and lots of games. Calebs teacher bought all of the children books. Caleb got "The Lion, The Witch & the Wardrobe". Matthew was at the celebration but was to tired to really party. It was nap time after all.

Last Ice Hockey Session

Tonight was the last ice hockey session for Caleb and Ryan. They have really enjoyed learning (or beginning to learn) how to ice skate. Chad got some VERY short video's of them on the ice. They are deciding now whether or not they are going to sign on for the January session. Since this was the last night the instructors had a pizza party afterwards for all of the kids.

Today was Ryan's school Christmas party. They had lots of activities, crafts, and games. They played bing bag toss and bowled using 2 liters for bowling pins. This afternoon Matthew and Bella were trying out the new napmat that Matthew got for Christmas. I heard Matthew laughing hysterically so I went to investigate. I was able to capture Bella on video trying to steal Matthews paci out of his mouth! Matthew really loves his paci though and wasn't about to let Bella have it. Bella eventually got tire of trying and gave up.

This is a late post. We have been busy getting ready for Christmas, but since I now have almost all of my shopping done, I can start playing catch up with everything else. Bella's final puppy obedience class was Wednesday. It was just her and Micky, Biscuit was not able to be there this week. Bella did very well. She sat after being given the "sit command" and she was able to hold a "stay" for at least 15 seconds. She did okay on the "come command" but she was a little distracted by a piece of food under the trainers chair (she is very food obsessed). She still passed though and received her doggy diploma.
